[Imagining Wyomings Future Award] — [1st place/ $700 Grand Prize]
This competition was hosted by the University of Wyoming to gauge the youths thoughts on the future of our state. I wrote a vision for Wyoming maintaining its energy exporter economy while transitioning away from fossil fuels.

Ravens and Demigods
In my Freshman year of highschool I started working on a novel, I worked on it sophmore and junior year, it grew to some 160 pages, but it fell aside when higher priorities came with tighter deadlines. I wrote most of whats published here when I was 14-15, so its a bit dramatic. It is an examination of utilitarianism and self righteous justification of terrible things done for a greater good. It's a scifi story, about a scientist's vision of what humanity could be, how it should be, and how he loses his humanity in pursuit of it. A quick note here just to be crystal clear: the protagonist isn't meant to be a "good" guy. The vilans in my story are humanized dispite being horrible, the hero does terrible things in pursuit of a greater good, this tension is the point, all characters are in varying shades of grey.
